NATIONAL, STATE AND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS UNITE TO HOST OKC COMMUNITY EVENTS TO SUPPORT HOLTZCLAW OKC SEXUAL ASSAULT VICTIMS

WHO: Various national, state and local organizations have partnered in unity in support  of the OKC Holtzclaw rape case victims.

WHAT: On Thursday December 10, 2015 a jury found former Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw guilty of some of the most serious charges against him, including sexual battery, forcible oral sodomy and rape. Holtzclaw faced 36 counts. He was found guilty on 18. The jury recommended over 200 years in prison. On Thursday January 21, 2016 the Judge will sentence Daniel Holtzclaw. The community is gathering in support of the victims to ensure the Judge applies the jury’s recommendation.

WHEN: Below is a collective list of various events which will be held beginning on Monday January 18th through Friday January 22nd. The events are sponsored by various national, regional and local organizations.

Location: Black Women’s Blueprint Headquarters, 279 Empire Boulevard, Brooklyn, New York 11225

Details: Black Women’s Blueprint will ride to Oklahoma City to stand in solidarity with the 13 Black women survivors who were brutalized by former Oklahoma City Police Officer and convicted serial rapist Daniel Holtzclaw during his sentencing on January 21, 2016 in Oklahoma City, OK.
